Solar Victoria Solar Panel Rebate
Saving: Up to $1,400 off the upfront cost of your solar system.
Who qualifies: Owner-occupiers of existing Victorian homes or homes under construction. Household income under $210,000/yr, property under $3 million, no Solar Homes rebate in last 10 years. Rentals also eligible.
How it works: Protec submits the rebate on your behalf – the $1,400 is deducted directly from your quote. You never see the full price.
Solar Victoria Interest-Free Solar Loan
Saving: Up to $1,400 interest-free loan to match the rebate, repaid over 4 years.
Who qualifies: Same eligibility as the Solar Panel Rebate. Subject to credit check.
How it works: Repaid at approximately $29/month over 4 years at zero interest. Protec processes the application – stack it with the rebate for maximum savings.
Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program
Saving: ~$370 per usable kWh – around 30% off a typical battery. A 10kWh battery saves ~$3,700.
Who qualifies: Homeowners, small businesses & community facilities Australia-wide. No means testing. Battery must be 5kWh-100kWh, CEC accredited installer required.
How it works: Applied as an upfront discount at point of sale – no application, no waiting. Stackable with Solar Victoria rebates for combined savings up to $9,000.
Federal STCs (Small-Scale Technology Certificates)
Saving: ~$2,000-$3,000 for a typical 6.6kW Victorian system. Value reduces each year until 2030.
Who qualifies: All grid-connected solar systems under 100kW installed by a CEC accredited installer. Applies automatically.
How it works: Protec creates and trades STCs on your behalf, applying the value as a discount. The sooner you install, the more you save.
Solar Victoria Hot Water Rebate
Saving: Up to $1,000 off an eligible heat pump or solar hot water system.
Who qualifies: Victorian homeowners replacing a hot water system at least 3 years old. Owner-occupier, existing home.
How it works: Applied as a point-of-sale discount by Protec. Pair with a heat pump as part of the Home Electrification package.
