Troy installed our Solar Edge solar on our shed roof about 6 years ago.It has been an amazing system.We have a very power hungry household, and when the feed in tariffs stopped our bills became very expensive.We called Troy again to advise us on a battery installation.About 4 month ago he installed a 48 kWh Sig Energy battery to match our 18 kw 3 phase solar installation.Around this time some of our Solar Edge inverter's started playing up.Troy got them replaced by Solar Edge and installed them immediately.I love the Sig energy battery, it is quite big but it's modular structure is really smart and solid. The app is great.Even the inspector commented on the neat system and installation.The battery is a perfect match to our Solar production in the summer month.During the winter I will charge the battery in off peak periods to save money.It's very easy to do. I use the instant manual control button on the Sig app and my weather app to see if there will be enough sun or not.Troy is a very good tradesman and a really nice person to deal with.I recommend him to all my friends.Jurgen Mauracher

During the planning phase, Troy was very helpful with providing revised quotations as we finalised the system products and specifications.He worked with us on all aspects of the installation and commissioning. We found the work conducted to be of a very high standard. We would have no hesitation in using or recommending Protec Electrical again. Clarify pricing first.My elderley parents had a problem with a smoke detector. They called Troy, who attended and disabled it. He then arranged two detectors to be replaced later in the day.The work was all completed on time and as required.My issue is with his pricing. My parents asked the approx cost, which was not given "I need to ask the boss' Finally after completion the cost was verbalised at $828. this was for a call out fee, 1.5hrs work and two smoke detectors. (that I can buy for $87 each) My mum offered a cheque which was asked to be written out to cash.I feel that the price was exorbitant, and when we requested a breakdown and Invoice we received a breakdown, but no Invoice.Further attempts to deal with the pricing issue have been unsuccesful.So My 2 stars is for the work being completed well and on time, but 0 additional stars for price, and seeming to take advantage of two 90 year old pensioners.

Protec installed our solar system 3 years ago, and we’ve been so happy with it.So when our gas hot water died the week before Xmas, it was time to change to electric hot water. Protec were really helpful and professional. Their communication was very thorough and the team were quick and tidy. They coordinated everything, including a plumber to remove the old gas unit and the relevant rebates. They installed a new heat pump unit, so we now have hot water for Xmas. I contacted Protec Electrical & spoke to Troy about having my Cars fast charger wired in so we could use it.He said that he could do it the next day - Friday - and he expected the staff would do it after lunch. I was contacted in the morning with an update to say approx 1pm. Then Seamus who was in charge, messaged me to say they would be arriving in 15 minutes. They arrived about 11-30.After surveying what was required to do the job they quickly set about connecting it to mains power. They worked quickly & efficiently ..They were clean, well spoken & polite at all times.The job was completed by early afternoon.The charge was very reasonable ..I am very happy with Protec & have no hesitation at calling them for any further work I may require.Therefore, I have no hesitation at recommending to others needing electrical work complete !!!!

I contacted Protec when my rooftop solar inverter started to play up and I am glad I did. The unit is old technology and a new version would not be compatible with the existing panels. Fortunately, Troy knows of a repairer in Sydney who re-conditions old units such as mine and he was able to get a refurbished replacement with a minimum of delay.This type of old-school service is becoming rarer these days so Troy and Protec are much appreciated for dealing with the issue in a cost-effective way.
